Dave Britt, President / CEO

President since February 1997, Dave grew up in Baton Rouge and graduated LSU with a BA degree in sociology. He earned Master of Divinity (1980) and PhD (1985) degrees from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, where he worked as Director of Admissions and Student Records, and Adjunct Professor of Church and Community. Dave then served the Metro United Way in Louisville as Director of Planning and Research from 1990 to 1997, and then came to Central Louisiana as President of our United Way.  He has taught as an adjunct professor for the University of Louisville, Southern Seminary, LSU-Shreveport, and Louisiana College. 


Debbie Dove, Director of Operations

Debbie began with our United Way in 1988, so she knows how things work (and how they don't!). Born in Alexandria, Debbie graduated from Holy Savior Menard Central High School. Debbie has graced our United Way staff by filling many roles and wearing a multitude of hats, all while being extraordinarily helpful to the rest of us!


Kevin Gebhart, Director of the Strong Neighborhood Project

Kevin brings a wealth of experience in disaster response and community organizing to his work with us.  A graduate of Tulane University (BA in Latin American Studies, magna cum laude, that included a year at Trinity College in Dublin) and with graduate work at Cambridge University (UK) and Universidad Centroamericana (Nicaragua), Kevin first volunteered for the American Red Cross after Hurricane Katrina, then worked for them at our multi-agency Evacuee Center until the dust had settled.  He served as consultant and interim director for the Blue Mountain Project in Jamaica, and was co-founder and director of operations and research for the Community Research Project in St. Landry Parish, Louisiana and in rural Kenya.  


Sharon Greiner, Director of Community Investment

As Director of Community Investment, Sharon brings a wealth of experience with nonprofit organizations to bear. She joined our staff in early 2005. Before that, she was employed at the Inner-City Revitalization Corporation or IRC in Alexandria. Other experience stems from a variety of business contexts. With more than a decade of living in Cenla, and significant computer and technical skills, Sharon makes a great addition to our staff!


Suzy Smart, Administrative Assistant

Suzy is a great person to call for just about anything!  The newest member of our team, Suzy joined in the summer of 2019, and immediately set about getting the rest of us organized.  She worked previously for Baker Manufacturing, and First United Methodist Church in Alexandria. 


Lakeitha Williams, MSW, Community Resource Specialist for the Strong Neighborhood Project

Lakeitha brings professional social work skills to our community-building endeavors.  With an undergraduate degree (Bachelor of Social Work) from Northwestern State University and a Master of Social Work degree from Louisiana State University, Lakeitha has received a number of awards and scholarships along the way.  She served as a certified addiction counselor with the 9th Judicial District (Rapides Parish) Drug Court.  Starting with us in November 2018, she also brings a terrific sense of humor and compassion to our United Way in everything she does.
